When Connie (Virginia Maynor, a.k.a Asa Maynor) goes to the Himalayas in search of her brother, she and her companions get more than they bargained for. Seems her dear, crazy brother was injected with a strange serum that could kill him if he doesn't get back to his mother country. But the truth behind the Yeti legend may stand in their way…

"Oh, come out from behid that rock. It's not like I haven't seen a naked Man Beast before!"

Like a lot of the low budget films that came out of the 50's, Man Beast is not without its charm. Not nearly as bad as the awful DVD cover art would lead you to believe, it's actually a semi-suspenseful, well acted little picture. Don't get me wrong, this Yeti potboiler is not without its faults. There are overly long filler scenes full of rock climbing, and check out the seasoned group of expeditioners who seemed to have forgotten their gloves! But at slightly over sixty minutes, there are worse ways to kill an hour.

"Man Beast! Put down that giant dildo!"

I was especially impressed by Maynor, who holds her own in an otherwise all-male expedition. She's a decent actress who takes her role seriously and adds a bit of dignity to what would normally be a shrinking violet role.

Unfortunately, Rhino's DVD doesn't have any extras, which may turn some B-movie hounds off from buying it. But if you like this kind of good clean fun, definitely check it out.
